“Matar Chole” Recipe

Safed matar is very nutritious lentil and one can
get it easily in market. Lots of recipes are made using this ex: safed matar ki
sabzi, matar chaat, matar tikki etc etc… Today I am writing about a very tasty
and spicy recipe called as matar chola. Masala used in this recipe makes it
amazingly delicious. Don’t forget to add tomato or mango powder in it that adds
alot to its get its taste. This recipe can be eaten with tea, roti or rice. If
you have samosa, just add 2 teaspoon of this mater chola and enjoy it as a
matar chaat…Here I give this recipe to you…have a look.
Ingredients:
1 cup safed matar or dried white
peas (soaked in water for 7-8 hours)
1 large onion
1 large teaspoon mango powder
1 cup water
Salt as per your taste
Masala
Ingredients:

Kitchen utensils required:
- 1 non-stick pan (I prefer: Vinod Zest Non- Stick Friendly Pan)
- 1 Spatula (I prefer: PINDIA Wooden Curved Spoons)
- 12 bowls (I prefer: Borosil Mixing Bowl)
- 1 Mixer-grinder( I prefer: Prestige Hero 550- Watt Mixer Grinder)
- 1 Chopper (I prefer: Genius Nicer Dicer Plus Multi Chopper Vegetable Cutter Fruit slicer)
- 1 cooker (I prefer: Prestige Popular Aluminum Pressure Cooker, 3 Liters)
Step
by step procedure:
Step-1 Heat cooker and put water, salt and soaked matar. Now cook
it for 7-8 weasels on medium flame.
Step-2 Heat cooker and add oil, finely chopped onion and fry it.
Step-3 In a grinder, grind all the masala ingredients and make
fine paste out of it. Now add masala paste into the cooker and mix everything
well. Now cover cooker with lid and cook masala at low flame.
Step-4 Add salt, mango powder and water to it. Mix everything well
and cover cooker with lid and cook it on medium flame for 4-5 weasels on low
flame.
Garnish it with finely chopped
coriander leaves, lemon, finely chopped onions.
Enjoy it with roti, plain
rice, paratha…….!!
Tips:
- Don't add too much water for gravy.
- Always boil matar before using it.
