“Aloo Tikki chaat”


“Aloo Tikki Chaat” recipe

Street Aloo tikki chaat..,here is recipe for same, in a style, which is mostly popular in northern India. This is just a mouthwatering snack..and people love to eat it in various combinations. Sometimes they add kabuli channa, white peas, Pomogranate etc in it else it can also be taken with tomato/green chutney and salad. This recipe is little bit time taking but when prepared you will just love to have it again and again...come, let’s have a look on its preparation method that I prefer the most.




Ingredients:

1 cup safed matar(boiled)
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 Cup potato (boiled)
½ teaspoon cumin seed
¼  Cup onion (finely chopped)
1 Tomato (finely chopped)
5 teaspoon yogurt
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
1 teaspoon black salt
1 teaspoon chaat masala
 1 teaspoon red chili powder
5 teaspoon tamarind chutney
4 teaspoon green chutney
6 teaspoon bhujiya namkeen
Oil for deep frying
Salt as per your taste

Aloo tikki Ingredients:
1 cup potato(boiled)
1 teaspoon chaat masala
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon coriander leave(finely chopped)
Salt as per your taste
¼ cup poha(soaked in water)



























Kitchen utensils required:
  • 2 non-stick pan (I prefer: Vinod Zest Non- Stick Friendly Pan)
  • 2 Spatula (I prefer: PINDIA Wooden Curved Spoons)
  • 20 bowls (I prefer: Borosil Mixing Bowl)
  • 1 Mixer-grinder( I prefer: Prestige Hero 550- Watt Mixer Grinder)
  • 1 non-stick tava (I prefer: Vinod Cookware Dosa Tava)
  • 1 Chopper (I prefer: Genius Nicer Dicer Plus Multi Chopper Vegetable Cutter Fruit slicer)
  • 2 cooker (I prefer: Prestige Popular Aluminum Pressure Cooker, 3 Liters)

  • 1 Water jug








                                      Step by step procedure:

To make White matar chhola

Step-1Boil chhola in a cooker. Now heat non stick deep fry pan, add oil. When oil become hot then add cumin seeds, chopped onion and fry them. When onion is fried then add chopped tomato, coriander powder, garam masala, chaat masala, salt, chili powder. Now let it fry nicely. Cover lid of pan and cook it for 3-4 minutes on low flame.

Step-2 When masala is cooked well then at low flame add boiled safed matar, turmeric powder, tamarind chutney, water, coriander leave. Cover and let it cook for 2 min on low flame. Chhola is ready for Aloo tikki chaat.
Prepare Aloo tikki
Take bowl, add all the tikki ingredients, mix everything very well. Take small proportion of it and roll it in shape of tikki. Similarly prepare all. Heat non stick tava. Put oil. When oil is hot then put tikki’s on it and let it shallow fry on low flame. Cook it from both the sides. Cook all tikki’s.

Prepare Aloo tikki chaat
First boil aloo in a cooker. Now take a plate, put aloo tikki, then put boiled and finely chopped potatoes on it. Now add safed matar chhola that you have prepared initially. Now add cumin powder, chili powder, yogurt, black salt, garam masala powder, chaat masala, coriander powder, finely chopped onion, green chutney, tamarind chutney, bhujiya namkeen.
When done enjoy it with tea.


Tips:
  • Add very less amount of water in safed matar chhola.
  • Adding poha will make tikki crunchy.
