Spicy "Garlic scapes chutney" Recipe

Garlic scapes chutney is very simple and spicy chutney...Very less people use garlic scapes in there food. But garlic scapes are good for health. My mother used to prepare this recipe and I love to ask her to make it again and again due to its awesome taste. I enjoy this chutney with plain dal chawal…even I don’t need any sabji in my food, if I have Garlic scapes. Ingredients:

12-14 garlic scapes

Masala Ingredients:
1 teaspoon Red Chili powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
½ teaspoon Carom Seeds
½ teaspoon fennel seed
½ teaspoon Mustard seed( rai)
½ teaspoon Dried Mango powder
½ teaspoon kalonji
½ teaspoon lemon juice
Salt to taste
























Kitchen utensils Required:


  • 1 Mixer-grinder( I prefer: Prestige Hero 550- Watt Mixer Grinder)
  • 11 bowls (I prefer: Borosil Mixing Bowl)  

Step by step procedure:

Step-1 Wash garlic scapes and dry it so that all water is removed. Chop them into small pieces.
 
Step-2  In a grinder, put all the masala ingredients and coarsely grind them together. Add salt as per your taste.
serve it with any rice, dal, roti or naan.
  
Tips:
  • Don't use too much masala ingredients.
  • Adjust masala ingredients according to your taste.
  • There should be no water in garlic scape when used for making pickle.
