Lal masur dal is very nutritious and we can get it
easily in market. Today I am going to use it to prepare the very famous, Kadhi.
We make kadhi in many styles i.e using besan and yogurt..etc etc..Here is
recipe which my mother uses to cook. Just a perfectly delicious and tasty
recipe I can have on any fine day. It takes very less time to prepare and once
prepared, you can have it with plane rice. The dal pakoda used in this Kadhi is
very tasty because the pakoda we use here is mixed with flavored masala, which
makes it delicious to eat…don’t waste time..see the ingredients and procedure to
prepare this amazing recipe…lets prepare.
Ingredients:
1 cup lal masur dal (socked for 10
minutes in water)
1 large onion
1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
1 teaspoon mango powder
Masala
Ingredients:

2-3 Red

teaspoon cumin seed

teaspoon black cumin

Pakora Ingredients:
|
½ cup Dal paste
|
½ teaspoon Red chili powder
|
1 large teaspoon masala ingredients paste
|
Kitchen utensils required:
- 1 non-stick pan (I prefer: Vinod Zest Non- Stick Friendly Pan)
- 1 Spatula (I prefer: PINDIA Wooden Curved Spoons)
- 9 bowls (I prefer: Borosil Mixing Bowl)
- 1 Mixer-grinder( I prefer: Prestige Hero 550- Watt Mixer Grinder)
- 1 non-stick tava (I prefer: Vinod Cookware Dosa Tava)
- 1 water jug
Step
by step procedure:
Step-1 Make fine paste of masala ingredients.
Step-2 Make fine paste of lal masur dal.
To make pakora’s
Step-1 Add chili powder, masala paste and salt into dal paste. Mix
it well. Make flat or round pakora’s out of it. Shape of pakora is up to you.
Step-2 Heat non-stick tava, put oil to it and put pakora’s and
shallow fry them from both sides on low flame.
To make gravy
Step-1 Heat deep pan and drop oil to it. Fry chopped onion. When
done add masala paste, turmeric powder, dal paste. Mix well and cover pan with
lid and cook it on low flame for 5 minutes.
Step-2 Add water to it and stir well. Add mango powder, salt as per
your taste. Let it boil on high flame and your kadhi is ready.
Step-3 Finally add pakora’s to kadhi.
Garnish it with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with roti or rice………..!!!
Tips:
- Always soak dal in water before using it for making pakora's.
- After adding water for gravy, mix everything very well.
- Don't add too much water in gravy.
